Owls! (:

I know I'm supposed to be a "big girl" because I'm 21 and all but I love doing fun things on my nails, I will never be "too old" to not enjoy myself with things like cute little owls on my nails.
I know in all the pictures but the last one my ring finger is purple but I accidentally smudged it on the last step and had to start all over on that finger and accidentally switched the colors and didn't notice until I was done. Oops (:
Also I'm going to put the polishes I used at the END of this tutorial because I used a LOT of colors.
I used Nailene Perfect Tips stickers (I got mine at walmart for like 2 bucks.) Put them so you can see a tiny sliver of your nail at the top. When you have the stickers placed where you like them and made sure they're pressed down. Then you can start painting the main color of the owls.

Once you have you main color done (Mine took 2 coats for most colors 3 on some) and dry you can start the stomach color for each owl. I took a tooth pick to draw the outline of the stomach then filled it in all the way with the nail polish brush. I was going to put dots of the main color on the stomach but it was late at night and I got tired, but I think they would look really cute with dots on their stomachs (:

Once you have their stomachs done next you can do the eyes, I used the rounded end of a sewing pin to make the dots. You could also cut the tip of a tooth pick off and use that. then take the opposite end of the pin or tooth pick to make the black pupil. Once that is done you can take a new tooth pick and make a small triangle beak with yellow nail polish

Once that's done all you need to do is let it dry and add top coat and your cute owl nails are done (:

Here is the key I'm going to use.
MC: Main color
SC: Stomach color
I used NYC 134 "French White Tip" for the Eyes with a Black dot for the pupil
Pure Ice "Excuse Me" for the beak

here we go.

Thumb MC; China Glaze 625 "For Audrey"
Thumb SC; Sinful Colors 940 "Rise and Shine"

Pointer MC; Revlon 051 "Starry Pink"
Pointer SC; NYC 124 "Cashmere Creme"

Middle MC; Sinful Colors 955 "Pull Over"
Middle SC; Revlon 925 "Gold Coin"

Ring MC; Revlon 925 "Gold Coin"
Ring SC; Sinful Colors 929 "Let's Talk"

Pinky MC; Revlon 210 "Electric Pink"
Pinky SC; China Glaze 1005 "Orange Knockout (Neon)"

Leopard Nails!

So this is going to be my new go to tutorial for leopard design because this is my new favorite that I've done! Probably because I love this barbie pink color and the tiffany blue together!
I would also like to apologize for the horrible quality of the picture but it's the only one I have ):

So this is how I personally do lepard print, it may not be how anyone else does it but it works for me and I get compliments daily on my leopard nails (:

But FIRST let me tell you which colors I used. (:

The pink (which you can't fully tell in this picture is literally barbie pink!) is Essie 152 "Fiji" and I LOVE the color, but I dislike Essie as a brand and I HATE to say that but with every Essie I use I notice that I have to use a LOT of polish to make it go on without being "streaky" and that is one of my biggest pet peeves when it comes to nail polish! I hate having to glob on a TON of polish for it to come out nice!
personally I LOVE Revlon! It goes on easy, evenly and a little goes a LONG way! plus the brush isn't too wide for my long semi narrow nails, but that's just my opinion.

The other color I used was China Glaze 625 "For Audrey" I do love China Glaze but I find that half are too thick and I have to dilute them with polish remover or they're lumpy. It might be a coincidence but I just don't like having to mess them imediately when I buy them but I love their color selecion their seasonal colors and their price is better than OPI and Essie.

For the lines on the zebra accent nail, and the black around the spots I use Kiss Nail Artist, mine came in a pack of 3 (White, Black and Silver sparkle) I got them at Target for I think 5 dollars? Something along those lines. They aren't pens, it's normal nail polish just with very thin long brushes so they're great for fine details.

Now that I've talked your ear off just with the colors I'm going to attempt to explain how I do leopard print with no pictures. (I'm going to make a video sometime when I get back from Michigan) so until I have a video of it this is going to have to do!

I like to do an accent nail especially when I do leopard so the spots are the color of my accent nail, I just like the way that looks.

So pick two colors and paint your nails, let them completely dry. What you'll need is a pin, just a regular pin. You could use a sewing pin, or cut the tip off a tooth pick. I like the pin because I can clean and reuse it. Then take your nail polish and make a little puddle on a piece of paper that you can dip your pin into. Then all you need to do is make some spots on your nails. They should be different sizes, and shapes. Let them completely dry then I took my black Kiss Nail Artist brush and first did my zebra stripes, for those I just draw random squiggle lines starting at the top and working my way down.
When I first started doing designs I praciticed on paper until I felt comfortable to do them first try on my nails.
When it comes to the leopard spots you just draw a semi circle around each spot. (I think of them of funny shaped "C's") I also like to draw around 1/3 of the spot on one side and 1/3 of the spot on the opposite side just so they don't all look identical.

On these nails I did two nails of complete leopard, and two nails of partial leopard because I really liked the pink and wanted more of it to show through. But when you're doing your own nails it's up to you on how you want to do them.

Nautical Nails!

So I did my 4th of July nails differently than most people. I've been really into anchors recently so I decided I would do nautical nails in red white and blue (:

I used Revlon 080 "Delicious" for my red, China Glaze 948 "First Mate" for my navy and NYC 134 "French White Tip"
I wanted my main color to be red but you can try any color you like. Once it's dry you're going to take plain scotch tape and cut strips of equal width and place them on the finger nail(s) you want to be the accent nail(s). Then paint over the tape with the Navy. let dry for a few seconds and slowly  peel the tape of very very slowly then let it all dry.
Now comes the tricky part! To make the anchor I took a tooth pick and cut a tiny bit of the tip off so it would be flat and dipped it into my white and again very very slowly drew my anchor. I will admit I drew a few on a piece of paper to see which design I liked best. I wanted something simple and cute but next time I think I'll try something a little more difficult. Then all you need is some top coat to seal it in and you're good! (:

This will hopefully be your end result!

Ta Da! Nautical 4th of July inspired nails (:

old blog won't let me log in! link to old blog for older tutorials and info about future blogs

SO! my old blog won't allow me to log in for some reason so I had to start over /:

you can view my older blogs here; http://bellenailcreations.blogspot.com/ but from now on this is where my nail tutorials will come from and I'm going to attempt a video soon! So stay tuned (:

Also, I know I haven't posted a blog since June but my laptop got a virus and is now donezo /: so I've been busy trying to fix it without spending an arm and a leg and have come up empty. So now I've officially stolen my fiance's laptop and he's just going to have to get over it! lol

anyways, now that I have a laptop I can use I will definitely be better about posting, in 2 weeks! I'm about to take a vaccation to visit my grandparents for their 50th wedding anniversary in MICHIGAN! Which means I will be trapped in my mothers F150 with my 11 year old sister, mother, father and 2 of our dogs... for 3 days as we travel across the country. I'm still trying to figure out why I agreed I would go... I'm sure I'm going to regret it after I have to listen to my sister complain and be rude to every person in the car, when my mom is on her 2nd "Books on tapes" yes, my mom listens to books on cd as we drive... and not good books, random books no one has heard of... EVERY trip I have to deal with this because we have HORRIBLE luck with flying so we always drive and that means 3 WHOLE days of driving while listening on books on tape... bleh!

Anyways I got to rambling I'm sorry... so basically I'm going to blog 3 nail tutorials maybe 4 directly after I post this then be gone for 2 weeks then I will start posting weekly again! (:

SO be prepared for an overload of tutorials in 5...4...3...2...1...
